Our Beliefs

God
We believe God exists eternally and equally in three persons: the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

 (Matthew 28:19; Colossians 2:9)

Jesus
We believe Jesus Christ is the Son of God. He is equal with the Father. Jesus lived a sinless human life and offered Himself as the perfect sacrifice for the sins of all people by dying on the cross. He rose from the dead on the third day to demonstrate His power over sin and death. He ascended into heaven and will return to earth to reign as King.

(Matthew 1:22-23; Romans 1:3-4; Corinthians 15:3-4; Hebrews 4:14-15)

The Holy Spirit
We believe the Holy Spirit is the third person of the Trinity. He was constantly spoken of and promised by Jesus. He lives in every Christian from the moment of authentic conversion to indwell, infill, enlighten, empower, lead, guide, correct, convict, and comfort their lives.

 (John 14:16-18; Ephesians 5:18; Romans 8:15; Acts 1:8)

The Bible
We believe what the Bile says about itself which is that it is inspired by God. It is a collection of writings by human authors who were under the authority and guidance of the Holy Spirit. It is to be interpreted according to its context and purpose and when “rightly divided” it is the ultimate authority for our faith, our lives, and the practices of our church.

(2 Timothy 3:15-16; Romans 15:4)

Salvation
Salvation is God’s free gift to humanity but as is the case with any gift, it must be received. The way we receive this gift is only by trusting in the death, burial, resurrection, and ascension of Jesus Christ.

(1 Timothy 2:5; Romans 10:9)

Sin
Sin is an act of disobedience against God. It is a deviation from God’s will and character. Sin separates us from God and leads only to death. Sin is the reason why Jesus, who was sinless, needed to die on the cross for our sins. No one is without sin, “for all have sinned and come short of the glory of God.”

(Romans 3:23; Romans 6:23; John 3:16)

The Church
The Church is the active fellowship of believers. It is the Body of Christ and the primary vehicle in which God uses to give Him glory and to carry out His mission in this world.

(1 Corinthians 12:27; Romans 12:4-5)

Baptism & Communion
Baptism and the Lord’s Supper are the two ordinances of the church. Baptism is the full immersion in water of a believer in order to outwardly show our faith in Jesus’ death, burial and resurrection, and in effect, our death to sin and resurrection to a new life in Christ. Communion is the communal commemoration of what Jesus did for us on the cross, and our invitation to self-examination.

(Romans 6:1-4; Colossians 2:12; 1 Corinthians 11:23-29)
